At Tilt-A-Way, we don’t put anything new into one of our gates until it’s earned its place. And earning a place takes 117,000 cycles.

The Three-Year Standard

When a new product or component is being considered for our gates, it goes onto our test gate first. That includes anything one of our team members has suggested, as well as parts a customer has had success with that we’re evaluating as an alternative to what we currently use.

We run it through 117,000 cycles. That’s the equivalent of three years of operation at 100 cycles per day. If it can survive that, it has a shot at making it into our production gates.

If it doesn’t, it doesn’t go in. Simple as that.

Why We Do It This Way

We’re always looking to improve our product. New parts come on the market, customers share what’s working for them, and our own team is constantly thinking about how to make things better. That’s a good thing, but improvement only counts if it actually holds up in the real world.

Our test gate is rugged. It’s supposed to be. It runs day after day, simulating years of wear and use, so we can find a component’s breaking point in our shop instead of in the field.

By the time a part shows up in the gate we ship to your site, it’s been proven through the equivalent of three years of daily use. That’s how we make sure the reliability you expect from a Tilt-A-Way gate doesn’t waver, even as we continue to improve and evolve the product.
